Teaching Speaking: Fluency and Accuracy

This short course is aimed at teachers who want to gain a deeper insight into how to strike a balance between fluency and accuracy. Teachers will explore strategies for providing scaffolding and giving effective feedback. It has been designed to provide support to teachers who are entering students for a Trinity GESE or ISE Examination.
The overall aims are:
-to establish and define the difference between accuracy and fluency
-to consider best practice in how to run fluency and accuracy focused activities
-to explore and share activities for scaffolding speaking lessons
- to investigate ways of providing feedback following a speaking activity
-to examine sample lesson plans for speaking classes
