Concorso Trinity - Ca' Foscari
Tipo di questionario: Concorso
Rivolto a: Studenti di scuola superiore
Write your own portfolio questions!
Follow the instructions below and win a chance to do the new Trinity-Ca'
Foscari co-certification at B2 level absolutely free of charge. All you
have to do is write a suitable question for the 'critical writing'
section of the portfolio. This means you will have to think of the sort
of topic -- and the kind of question -- which is appropriate in an exam for students at B2 level with a special interest in language, literature and culture. To get an idea of what is required, have a look at the five questions used in the 2007 pilot version of the exam.
EXAMPLES OF PORTFOLIO 'CRITICAL WRITING' TASKS AT B2 LEVEL
Write a review of a film you have recently seen, identifying its strengths and weaknesses. 'English is an easy language to learn'.
Comment on this claim, giving examples of why this may or may not be true, and referring to your own experience as a learner if you wish.
Analyse the appeal of detective stories, referring to more than one example, and giving your own assessment of the genre.
Is sport in Italy in crisis? Write a critical overview, presenting the topic from different angles and referring to more than one sport.
'There is no substitute for live musical performance.' Write an evaluation of this viewpoint with particular reference to the Italian perspective.
The competition is open to all students in the Italian upper secondary school (scuola superiore) who study English language, culture and literature who have a language competence at B2 level of the CEFR.
Contestants must write a question designed to elicit language that can test the ability of candidates to write critically about a topic of cultural interest at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference.
Topics chosen may refer specifically to an Italian background (such as 'Italian cinema' or 'the Italian educational system') or to a wider, global context.
Questions should be no more than 60 words long.
